MOGAS Industries, Inc., the leading manufacturer of severe service ball valves for extreme industrial applications is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician III that will assist with some lead responsibilities for our North Houston location. The position will be troubleshooting and repairing of machine tool mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic system on grinding, milling, turning and process equipment, with limited support of facility and related equipment as needed.

Required Education and Experience: 

• High School Diploma or General Education (GED) required
• Seven (7) years plus experience in manufacturing machine repair
• Working knowledge of preventative maintenance processes. 
• Ability to operate forklift and manlift equipment as needed to perform duties (site specific training and license issuance provided)

Responsibilities and Essential Requirements: 

• Troubleshoots electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to determine causes of machine failure with little supervision
  1. Perform basic diagnostic tests, checking performance, and testing machine parts for wear and damage to determine if major or minor repairs are necessary
  2. Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs in a safe and timely manner
  3. Complete and lead complicated repairs with minimal supervision in a sensible and effective order
  4. Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts and/or replaces faulty parts or wiring as required
  5. Reassembles, tests and adjusts equipment for safe and proper operation upon repair completion
  6. Ability to analyze and decipher technical content quickly
• Assists and performs repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, HVAC, water filtration, air and oil mist extraction
• Assist with sourcing, maintaining and ordering of spare parts and equipment for replacement and ascertaining the proper documentation of the same 
• Identifies and recommends preventive maintenance items based on schedules and machine condition in alignment with OEM and company requirements

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Highly skilled in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical machine malfunctions
• Ability to use electrical testing equipment and precision measuring tools
• Familiarity with low voltage and three phase electrical system
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot PLC signals as they pertain to machine function
• Knowledge of servo hydraulic systems and positioning transducers
• Able to work on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Able to read and interpret US and European machine schematics and mechanical drawings 
• Minimum of 7 years hands-on experience with manufacturing machine tool repair and maintenance including system control components
• Familiarity with robotic controls and automation 
• Able to perform geometric alignment and compensation tables for CNC machines

• Knowledge of CNC, PC, PLC and relay logic controls and control systems as needed to safely and effectively diagnose and perform mechanical repairs
• Familiarity with process driven controls equipment

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Must have personally owned mechanical and measuring tools sufficient to perform repairs required by experience level of position
• Skilled in planning, organizing, tracking, and adjusting projects with multiple phases in coordination with all departments

• Experience with HVAC equipment and systems
• Machine rigging and moving experience 

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: 

• Certified Forklift and Manlift operator (site specific training and license issuance provided)
• Journeyman Electrician (Preferred but not required)
• OEM training in PLC and machine control diagnostics (Preferred but not required)
