Modular Devices is Hiring a Field Service Technician Near Indianapolis, IN
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing cleanrooms, cleanroom components and cleanroom support systems (HVAC, controls, biosafety cabinets, laminar flow hoods, HEPA filters, exhaust fans, etc.).
- Configuring hardware and software components after installation.
- Testing and troubleshooting equipment to determine what needs repair or replacement.
- Performing routine maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and controls systems.
- Documenting installation and repairs, keeping records of all maintenance and repairs.
- Troubleshoots and escalates issues using problem-solving methods as root cause analysis.
- Identifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing related issues using standard methodology.
- Maintaining all tools and equipment used during service requests.
- Responds to service requests by diagnosing equipment problems, process issues and performing the necessary repairs or modifications and documents the corrective actions taken.
- Ensures escalation process is followed and complete in a timely manner for service and downtime issues.
- Teaching customers how to use the provided cleanroom systems and equipment properly.
- Support management of the stock of replacement parts and equipment.
- Using computers, software, and electronic tools to operate, monitor and troubleshoot cleanrooms.
- Applies broad knowledge of general technical concepts and practices and a general understanding of product or systems fundamentals.
- Assignments require broad judgment in troubleshooting proven processes as well as the ability to suggest alternatives.
- Required Travel 20-30%. Potential Overtime Required. Weekend travel required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Excellent attendance is required.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Applies solid knowledge of business concepts, procedures and practices, and a complete understanding fundamental in a functional area, and working knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Ability to interact seamlessly with all clinical professionals.
- Ability to perform some manual labor tasks such as Equipment installation, and cleanroom construction task usings various tooling.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent team player.
- Valid Driver’s License Required.
- Carries or pulls up to 40 lbs. of test equipment.
- Lift parts or carry parts weighing a few ounces to over 100 lbs. (assistance available when lifting items over 50 lbs.)
- Frequently bends, stoops, climbs, twists, turns, and works in unusual positions using full body mobility.
- Minimum 1 year of working in a technical services field facilities engineering environment or cleanroom environment.
- Experience with HVAC and HVAC control system repair/maintenance strongly preferred.
- Working in ISO Cleanroom environment preferred.
- H.S. diploma or equivalent plus 5 years of related work experience or equivalent combination.
- Two-year degree or some college credits preferred.
