SERVICEMANAGER
ModernControls is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Service Manager to lead continued customer satisfaction and market expansion. The Service Manager needs to be innovative and have a proven ability to lead a team of up to 75 service technicians daily, with a lean office team. The Service Manager at ModernControls offers a full-time, exempt (salaried) position, with annual bonus plan!
ModernControls has been servicing customers for their Building Automation, HVAC/R, Plumbing and mechanical service needs for 35 years due to their customer ownership and company culture! The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining and expanding the reputation ModernControls has built in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and continuing to expand!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the ModernControls Service team in daily operations, continuously seeking areas to improve operational efficiencies.
- Ownership of Service P&L – maintain revenue growth and margin expansion in current and expanding territories.
- Provide internal technical support to a team of up to 75 service technicians (mechanics)
- Conduct site surveys, scope reviews, quality assurance visits, on-site technical training and other support-based activities.
- Technical development and career development of technical and administrative team(s).
- Annual business planning to maintain and achieve departmental goals
- Lead deployment of new service operating software for field and office team
- Lead service on-call rotation, available 24-7 for routing and technician support
- Expand and develop new customer relationships and World Class satisfaction.
- Drive full safety compliance with all service members and any team member – safety is #1!
- Deploy operational strategies for service and mechanical projects

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge and Skills:
- Extensive HVAC/R and Building Automation knowledge (systems, operations, and maintenance).- Proven leadership and ability to lead large teams in daily service operations.- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.- Has the ability to use technology to achieve improved results.- Operational understanding of CRM and Enterprise based ERP/Field Service software- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office toolset (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).- Ability to manage and prioritize continuously shifting deliverables.- Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Physical Standards:
- Walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time.- Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel.- Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant HVAC/R and/or BAS Service experience.- High School diploma or equivalent.- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive in daytime and nighttime.- OHSA-30 (Preferred, not required)- Training and/or working knowledge of mechanical systems used in data center, pharmaceutical, education, healthcare and beyond.
