- Employee hiring, training, and discipline.
- Overseeing and Managing Driver check-in and pre-trip inspections
- Conduct monthly Safety meetings for all company employees.
- Residential, Commercial, and industrial routing/ route analyzing.
- Overseeing first resolution for Residential, Commercial and Industrial service-related issues
- Oversight of container delivery for all lines of business including daily container delivery routes.
- Overseeing and managing the movement of containers in the yard, as well as, perform container inventories.
- DOT Compliance (driver compliance, administration, and audit)
- Monitoring driver qualification files and the hiring and selection process
- Reviewing hours of service records for accuracy
- Assuring DOT drug / alcohol program is compliant with regulations
- Assure in vehicle driver training is completed with every active driver
- Assure vehicle inspection hands on training is completed with every active driver
- Review accident file contents for accuracy and documents needed
- Gatekeeper for accident preventable decisions
- Assure proper accountability is delivered for preventable accidents
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience in waste hauling industry for 5 or more years.
- Working knowledge of federal and state safety laws, particularly FMCSR & OSHA standards.
- CDL preferred but not required
- Ideal candidate has previously operated, has a clear knowledge of the operating capabilities, or currently has a CDL to operate a waste collection vehicle.
- Analysis and identification of risk trends, problems and solutions.
- Ability to plan and execute events, safety meetings, accident review meetings, and safety celebrations.
- Develop and communicate informative presentations and strategies for stakeholders and managers to gain understanding and consensus.
