Job Type: Shift options for AM/PM and OVN: 10 hour, 12 hour and 16 hour shifts

Status options - Full time, Part time, Relief I and Relief II

Start times offered:

• 6am, 7am, 8am
• 12pm, 1pm 2pm
• 8pm, 9pm, 10pm (10 or 12 hour shifts only)

Misericordia Heart of Mercy is a home to over 600 children and adults with mild to profound developmental disabilities. Misericordia offers a community of care that maximizes potential for persons with mild to profound developmental disabilities, many of whom are also physically challenged. 

 Misericordia Heart of Mercy is Certified Nursing Assistants for residents of various ages who need total care in our skilled nursing residence, McAuley.

Misericordia: McAuley Residence CNA Position Overview & Career Benefits

As a Certified Nursing Assistant for the McAuley Residence, you will have the opportunity to make a difference by providing specialized care to residents with profound developmental or intellectual disabilities. CNA’s will support and assist residents with daily needs including but not limited to personal care needs, medical needs, mealtime needs and physical support.

The McAuley Residence is a state-of-the-art skilled nursing residence for individuals with both profound developmental disabilities and complex medical issues. The McAuley Residence offers a nurturing environment for people who need focused care.

While prior experience as a CNA isn’t required, the ideal candidate must be dependable, compassionate and have a passion for helping others. Our paid training program will equip you with the necessary knowledge to provide high quality specialized care to our residents. 

As a CNA at the McAuley Residence, you will have the chance to work alongside seasoned healthcare professionals such as other Certified Nursing Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses. McAuley CNA Job Responsibilities:

• Provide total care for our residents including bathing, feeding, 2-person transfers and transfers using mechanical lifts, participation in day program and recreational activities
• Provide the care and oversight of residents throughout the shift to ensure health, well-being and safety
• Closely engage with residents to become familiar with their needs, and advocate on their behalf
• Create connections and join us in our mission to ensure that our residents live their best lives
• Responsible for electronic documentation of all daily care needs and significant events.

CNA Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED 
• CNA license through accredited institution 
• Must have completed CNA courses with certification or confirmed date of pending certification exam. 
• Successful clearance of background check, physical, and drug screen
• Reliable and responsible attitude
• Show compassion and commitment to providing quality care to residents
• Able to lift 40 pounds, unassisted.
• Availability to work weekends

CNA Schedule:

 Salary:

CNA certified - HS Diploma/GED Base pay: $18.00

CNA certified- 4-year degree Base pay: $19.00

CNAs working AM shift on the weekend earn additional $2 per hour

CNAs working PM/OVN M-F shift earn additional $1.50 per hour

CNAs working PM/OVN on S/S earn additional $3 per hour
