Who We Are: Since 1956, The Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) has been nurturing, challenging and inspiring young minds through music. MYS0 is the largest and one of the most successful and respected after school youth orchestra programs in the nation. We serve more than 6000 young people ages 8-18, and MYSO is regularly recognized for its artistic excellence.

About the Role: We are looking for a Program Coordinator to join our team. The Program Coordinator will support the development and implementation of all MYSO programming efforts. Responsibilities include:

• Supporting all MYSO operations, including concerts, rehearsals and auditions
• Acting as primary contact with MYSO students and families
• Maintaining our student database
• Lead the planning and execution of all Community Concerts
• Oversee daytime programming activities and assist in preparation for after-school and evening programming
• Support student recruiting efforts
• Support the student financial aid process

What it takes to be our Program Coordinator: Successful candidates will have previous programming/production experience, a bachelor’s degree in the Arts, Arts Administration or other relevant program or commensurate work experience, and strong commitment to work well with all constituent groups (staff, students and families, volunteers, donors, program participants and other supports). This position is ideal for someone who:

• Has classroom management training and experience
• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students and families
• Strong collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills
• Passionate about the mission, vision, values and goals of MYSO and bring a deep commitment and empathy for those we serve
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple duties/tasks simultaneously
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
• Has a high energy level and the ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Spanish language fluency is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Database experience preferred

This position requires the ability to travel as needed to attend events; and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and skills.
