Millcreek Township School District is Hiring a Janitor - Part Time Near Erie, PA
SHIFT: Part Time - Saturdays Only 7:00am - 3:30pm
RATE: $16.84/hour
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.

REPORTS TO: Custodial Service Manager or Superintendent Designee
JOB GOAL: Provide students/staff with a safe and clean learning and working environment. Assist with identifying communicating, repairing, and moving equipment or facility damage.
Performance Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all areas of the building.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces such as desks, vents, lighting fixtures, lockers, tables, countertops,
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or fixing minor plumbing issues.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Respond to requests from staff regarding cleaning and minor maintenance issues. Input work
- Adhere to district policies and procedures regarding cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or their designee.
- Ability to sit, talk, or hear.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and move quickly when
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push items of 50 lbs. such as pushing children in a wheelchair or moving/rearranging
SENSORY ABILITY
- Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.
- Auditory acuity to be able to use telephone.
- Visual acuity to read correspondence and computer screen.
- Indoor and outdoor environments.
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Must be courteous.
- Must be cooperative, congenial, service-oriented, and promote these qualities in the building.
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Ability to demonstrate good written and verbal skills.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students,
- Ability to read, write, and do computations.
- Ability to work independently and make work-related decisions.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasks and problem-solving.
- Ability to use correct grammar, sentence structure, and spelling.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
