Midwest Veterinary Supply is Hiring an Accounts Payable Administrator Near Lakeville, MN

 

Midwest Veterinary Supply is seeking a Accounts Payable Administrator for our Lakeville, Minnesota corporate office.

Job Summary:

This position is an essential part of the Company’s Accounts Payable (A/P) team. We are looking for an A/P Administrator who is organized, detail-oriented and an effective communicator. This position performs a variety of functions including matching inventory receipts to vendor invoices as well as processing credit memos, agency invoices, and drop ship invoices. In addition, coordinating with various departments and branches to ensure timely processing of invoices and attainment of early pay discounts. 

Essential Job Functions:

  •  Process vendor invoices and credit memos using established policies and procedures including buy/sell, agency and drop ship invoices and/or orders. Ensure all vendor invoices and credit memos are accurately entered in accounts payable in a timely manner with accurate payment terms ensuring invoices are paid on time and early payment discounts are taken. 
  • Organize invoices and credit memos for entry and payment including printing, sorting, and distributing to appropriate staff as necessary.
  • Maintain documentation of invoices and credit memos through scanning, indexing, and filing.
  • Coordinate with other departments as necessary to ensure timely processing of invoices and credit memos.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
  • A high school diploma or equivalency (GED) is required 
  • A 2-year Accounting degree is preferred.
  • Two years minimum of work experience within an accounts payable environment to include computer and accounting basics.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work well with others and independently
  • Ability to 10-key accurately and efficiently

Mental & Physical Demands:

  • Attention to detail required for accuracy of data entered
  • Frequent deadlines to meet requires fast pace of work
  • Regular interaction with people and the ability to work as a team player.
  • The ability to multi-task work responsibilities.
  • Continuous use of hands for writing and computer keyboard use
  • Continuous use of a computer monitor requiring close vision
  • Frequent use of a telephone – listening and speaking
  • The ability to work at a desk throughout the day

Equipment Used:

Regularly uses typical office equipment including computer keyboard and terminal, telephone, fax, and copier.

Work Environment:

This is a hybrid position. Work will be performed indoors in a temperature-controlled climate where moderate heat, cold or humidity may be experienced. Moderate exposure to dust and dirt may also be expected. Work will typically be performed Monday through Friday. Working more than 40 hours per workweek may be required.
