Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified IT Technician that will install and maintain computer systems and provide technical support to end users.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of computer hardware, Microsoft Office, and an understanding of computer networking, as well as pocessing great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail. The candidate must also function as a member of a team.

The purpose of this role is to help maintain modern, efficient computer systems in a proactive manner.

Responsibilities:

• Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (conferencing cameras, printers, etc.)
• Set up, install, and maintain office telephones
• Test computer hardware to ensure functionality
• Install software according to specifications
• Assist in the maintenance of local networks
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
• Assist with maintenance and testing of data backups
• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
• Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
• Assist with providing help desk and desktop support services to end users locally and via remote assistance tools
• Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
• Maintain hardware inventory

Requirements and Skills:

• Proven experience as an IT technician, or relevant work history
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication ability
• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
• Understanding of Microsoft Office applications
• Understanding of internet security and data privacy principles
• Degree in Computer Science, or relevant field
• IT professional certifications will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A )

Schedule:

• Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Environment is 24/7 and there may be before or after-house requirements at times due to system upgrades, maintenance, etc.
