Job Summary:
The Activities Assistant at Michigan House Senior Living in Riverview, Michigan is responsible for assisting with planning, organizing, and implementing activities and programs for our senior residents. This is a Part Time, hourly position, with a pay rate of $14 per hour, paid biweekly. This is an individual contributor role, meaning you will work independently and report to the Activities Coordinator.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning and organizing daily and weekly activities for senior residents, taking into consideration their interests, abilities, and physical limitations
- Implement activities and programs, such as arts and crafts, games, music, and exercise classes, for the enjoyment and stimulation of our residents
- Encourage and facilitate resident participation in activities
- Help set up and clean up activity areas, including gathering necessary supplies and equipment
- Assist with the coordination of special events and outings for residents
- Support and assist residents during activities, providing any necessary aids or accommodations
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards residents, co-workers, and supervisors
- Report any concerns or changes in resident behavior to the Activities Coordinator
- Follow all safety and health regulations when handling equipment and supplies and when participating in activities
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with senior citizens preferred
- Basic knowledge of and ability to lead various activities and programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Must pass a criminal background check
