MICA Steelworks is Hiring a Human Resources Assistant Near Haltom, TX

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting with HR-related duties including payroll processing, onboarding and administrative filling and report creation. This position is also responsible for the administration of employee benefits and providing expertise and insight on employee benefits.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree Preferred.
  • 2-5 Years prior human resources administration experience required.
  • HRIS and ERP experience required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Criminal background check required for hire.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of trending Human Resources Information Systems, i.e., Paychex, ADP, PeopleSoft
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong work ethic and skill in being detail-oriented with a proven track record for accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of recruiting and staffing logistics
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity while executing responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively – both verbally and in writing, across all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and maintain a calm, positive disposition regardless of the situation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, discretion, and customer focus.
  • Ability to demonstrate a team player attitude.
  • Successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing the front desk responsibilities (See Front Desk SOP), including but not limited to: Answering phones, greeting guests, processing mail.
  • Processing Service Awards for all facilities, which includes, service award certificates, maintaining the service pin and helmet sticker inventory
  • Maintaining the Gift Card Spreadsheet
  • Assist HR Generalist with screening initiatives, such as, posting open positions, screening applications, phone screens, forwarding resumes to management and creating calendar reminders for candidate interviews.
  • Prepare new hire folders and send out new hire packets for site HR Generalist
  • Updating and Distribution of Staff Phone Directory List
  • Updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) as required
  • Assisting with administrative duties, such as, filing, stuffing envelopes, sorting, mass mailings, and drafting correspondences
  • Administrative responsibility for Front Lobby, Strategy Room and Front Office Conference Room, including but not limited to ensuring area remains tidy, and mini-conference refrigerator remains stocked.
  • Administrative responsibility for Breakroom, including but not limited to ensuring break room remains tidy, coffee machine turned off at end of days, and coffee filter discarded.
  • Administrative responsibility for managing inventory for items needed for breakroom/conference room and send email correspondence to MICA Corporation for placing order.
  • Responsible for managing inventory spreadsheets for office supplies from the supply closes, as well as send out email correspondence to office staff for supply request.
  • Other human resources job duties and projects as assigned.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:

  • Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers.
  • Operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Operating knowledge of typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, e-mail, 10-key, etc.
  • Operating knowledge of company’s HRIS system and benefits online system required within 1 month after hire.
  • Operating knowledge of e-mail & communication management systems required within 2 weeks after hire.

While performing the duties of this job, this position is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities are required by this job, which include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

This is a full-time hourly position with overtime hours needing approval. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening work may be required as job duties demand.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
