Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for individual properties and consolidated real estate portfolios.
• Conduct variance analysis and financial performance assessments to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making by executive management and investment teams.
• Develop and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely completion of audits and tax filings.

Property Accounting Management:

• Oversee all aspects of property accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting for the real estate portfolio.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of property-level transactions, including rent payments, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
• Coordinate with property managers and leasing teams to reconcile tenant accounts and resolve discrepancies in rent payments or operating expenses.
• Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.

Development Accounting Management:

• Oversee the accurate and timely project and development monthly reporting, internal and external development loan draws, accounts payable processing, and other management reports.
• Collaborate with development staff to ensure understanding of project, financing structure and timing of key milestones.
• Ensure timely completion of developer fee payments and return of owner advances.
• Collaborate with Property Management Accounting for the timely transfers of accounting information of development projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance, with at least 7 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Thorough knowledge of property accounting principles, including lease accounting standards, US GAAP & IFRS.
• Experience with property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex lease agreements and financial data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
• Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve shared goals.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in property accounting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
