This position is located at the Family Wellness Center in Austin, TX. This position will be a dual role of Medical Assistant and Front Desk Receptionist.
Purpose
To provide patient care at the Family Wellness Center. Responsible for the safety, comfort, care, and treatment of patients and for the provision of patient care based on standard practices of the profession and special instructions from licensed professional staff.
Responsibilities
High school graduation or GED. Spanish proficiency. One year of experience working in front desk/office setting. One year of experience in an ambulatory/primary care clinic. Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant Program. CPR Certification. Accuracy in all phases of work performed including following written and verbal instructions. Tact, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality of medical information are required in all matters. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under stress in emergency situations.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
One year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant. More than one year of experience in a clinic setting. Experience performing procedures requiring sterile technique, prepping patients for procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology.
$33,280 - $37,440 depending on experience
Typical clinic environment.
