METCOR/LSI has a need for a Technical Writer to support the development and delivery of technical, procedural, and/or soft-skills training materials for federal employees. This position is full-time, remote, and offers a long-term opportunity for internal growth within an established organization.

Duties and Responsibilities in the Technical Writer role:

• Collaborative design and development of training materials (presentations, quick reference tools, instructor/participant guides, etc.) on a variety of topics
• Creating style guides, quick reference sheets, eLearning storyboards and various training support materials
• Editing and content review for team members
• Providing technical support during virtual training delivery
• Conducting end-user support for client
• Research and study to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a variety of topics

Required Skills and Abilities for the Technical Writer role:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to review and correct grammar, punctuation, inconsistencies in style, and spelling errors
• High degree of flexibility and adaptability
• Analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
• Aptitude for new technology

Education and Experience for the Technical Writer role:

• Bachelor's degree required (in a related field such as Instructional Design, Education, or English preferred)
• 1 years of training content creation preferred

Physical Requirements of the Technical Writer role:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Compensation

• $50,000 - $78,000 annually
