Job Description:
Metas Solutions has an opening for an experienced Public Health Senior Technical Writer to work Remotely . The Public Health Technical Writer will provide copy editing, desktop publishing, and programmatic and operational documentation maintenance for a federal client.
Responsibilities:

• Provide editorial support and technical guidance to CDC program staff on various written materials, including user guides, software release notes, installation guides, standard operating procedures, newsletters, presentations, and webpages.
• Develop, format, edit, review, and update scientific documents, including draft manuscripts, supplemental reports, and conference abstracts.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and other program staff to ensure the accuracy of scientific information.
• Employ the best graphic design and data visualization practices to deliver complex scientific information to a wide range of target audiences.
• Prepare reports summarizing key project activities, including demonstration projects, rapid program assessments, and surveillance reports.
• Provide Section 508 compliant documents for publishing.
• Provide technical assistance with clearance processes for desktop publishing and posting online documents and tracking document review and clearance.
• Maintain and manage documents in the designated document management system, keeping accurate records of all legacy, current, and pending technical records.
• Ensure that documents present information clearly and effectively, are written at a level appropriate for the target audience, and adhere to client style/specifications/guidance.
• Support tracking efforts for surveillance/evaluation data requests.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors in English, Communications, Journalism, or similar field required; Master of Public Health preferred.
• Experience with Section 508 compliance/remediation - Must have.
• 3-5 years of writing/editing experience.
• Excellent writing/editing skills: demonstrated ability to write clearly and succinctly.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work on time while managing project deadlines.
• Experience working independently with minimal supervision and guidance.
• Ability to articulate issues and concepts, technical and non-technical, both verbally and in written form.
• Demonstrated familiarity with scientific terminology, regulatory writing styles, standards & procedures, and Government plain language guidance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail.
