STARTING RATE: D.O.E.MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: 21 years old LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: State of Nevada Gaming Permit, Valid Driver’s License, and D.M.V. Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old). Must attend training and pass the Title 31 test prior to the first shift. Must comply with Title 31 requirements in addition to annual training and testing. JOB SUMMARY: The Cage Director is responsible for overseeing all department operations for Mesquite Gaming’s Casino Cages. All job duties are to be performed in accordance with Mesquite Gaming’s policies, procedures, minimum internal controls, and procedures. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of five (5) years of Casino Cage Management experience is required. Extensive knowledge of Gaming regulations, Title 31 and MICS/Regulations related to Cage operations is required. Must have excellent attention to detail while maintaining the accuracy and security required in the Cage operations. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment. Strong cash handling skills are required. Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally in English. High school diploma is required, some college education preferred. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Responsible for the control and accountability of the Casino Cage and vault areas. Implement, institute, and enforce rules and regulations of the Cage. Enforce and comply with gaming policies and procedures, including the policies and internal controls. Helps establish extension of credit, check cashing, and collection return items policies and procedures. Responsible for cash receipts and disbursements through the Cage to ensure adequate funding levels at all times. Hire, train, lead, coach, evaluate, discipline, and schedule all Cage team members. Review department staffing levels to ensure optimal service levels. Other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by management. CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS:Maintains knowledge of facilities, including upcoming and on-going Special Events to advise guests and team members. Must project a positive attitude at all times with a natural desire to assist others and provide excellent internal and external customer service. Maintains a maximum level of customer satisfaction and service and follows up with proper documentation. Assist personnel as necessary to ensure successful performance of the department and Company. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items (30 lbs) such as record boxes. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity. WORK CONDITIONS:The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves exposure to secondhand smoke in a casino. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
