STARTING RATE: D.O.E.MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: 21 years oldLICENSE/CERTIFICATION: State of Nevada Gaming Permit and an Unexpired Government issued identification. Valid Driver’s License, and D.M.V. Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old). Must attend training and pass the Title 31 test prior to the first shift. Must comply with Title 31 requirements in addition to annual training and testing. JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall operations of the department and department personnel. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: One to 3 years experience required as a Race & Sports Book Director or Manager. Must have extensive knowledge of CBS Equipment. Must have excellent organization/time management and decision-making skills. Must have knowledge of Title 31. Intermediate math and computer skills required. Must present a polished and professional image. Must have the ability to travel between properties as the needs of the business dictate. High school diploma or equivalent required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Operates Race & Sports Book satellite system. Sets Race & Sports Books lines and adjusts all sporting events. Creates annual department budget. Interview, motivate, lead, encourage, train, coach, evaluate, and discipline team members as needed. Assures all departmental and Company policies and procedures are adhered to, including, but not limited to, minimum internal controls. Make decisions based on analysis and experience. Other job-related duties as assigned or instructed by management. CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS:Acknowledges repeat customers and their typical bets.Sharing up to date information relevant to sporting events.Offer assistance and education on wagering information when asked. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves exposure to secondhand smoke in a casino. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
