YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE

We are looking for a Business Development Manager Sensory in USA. Your mission will be to:

Purpose (Objective): The incumbent is responsible for profitable revenue growth for Expert Services within the United States, specifically or including Consulting, Auditing, Digital Solutions, Labeling & Regulatory, and Research Services, utilizing expansion of existing clients, price increases, new business through market development, heavy prospecting, and value added selling of Mérieux NutriSciences complete portfolio.

Main activities:
  • Sales Strategy Management: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to consistently meet and exceed sales goals for the assigned Mérieux
NutriSciences Expert Services group. Utilize various communication channels, including telephone, video calls, client in-person appointments, conferences/trade shows, and emerging technologies as adopted by the company.
  • Lead Management: Promptly and effectively respond to sales leads from diverse sources. Conduct thorough qualification of potential leads by uncovering the contact needs, reasons behind those needs, and other pertinent business details to enhance the likelihood of securing business opportunities.
  • Technical Expertise: Present the companies capabilities and technical qualifications to potential clients. Collaborate with technical experts when necessary to prepare
clients for technical proposals or quotes.
  • Client Insight: Uncover critical information such as budget range, decision-making processes, desired project start or completion dates, and other key variables during the proposal phase.
  • Proposal Management: Take ownership of the proposal process, including the writing of proposals and collaborative efforts with technical experts for joint proposals. Ensure that all proposals are delivered within agreed-upon time frames.
  • Account Review and Support: Provide support to the sales team by conducting routine account business reviews, either through web-based or in-person meetings when specific services are utilized. Independently conduct business reviews when only the specific service in question is utilized.
  • Project Transition: Collaborate with team members on the seamless transition and management of projects that have been successfully sold and closed.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing department to develop and update content relevant to the role. Additionally, coordinate and manage special projects to enhance sales and marketing efforts.
  • Continuous Learning: Continuously develop and maintain professional selling skills and technical service expertise through available training programs on company services, emerging technologies, industry trends, and relevant regulatory requirements. Provide clients with up-to-date information to maintain the company's image as technical leaders in the industry.
  • Documentation and Analysis: Maintain accurate records of activities, pipeline status, closed deals, and client files within Salesforce. Document significant meetings, calls, and the status of sales opportunities. Stay informed about all presentations and sales tools. Also, manage and update costing files, templates, and legal documents, collaborating with leadership to implement changes as needed. Keep abreast of competitors' strengths, weaknesses, policies, pricing, and services to improve the chances of success in bid situations.
  • Adaptability: Be open to performing other reasonable work-related duties as requested, displaying flexibility and readiness to contribute to the team success.


YOUR PROFILE

Profile:
This position requires knowledge in Food testing, regulation, or consulting, typically obtained from a degree in Food Science or by working in the food or adjacent industries to understand the complexity of the services provided by Merieux NutriSciences.

Required skills:
Knowledge & Skill
Strong knowledge of sales techniques is helpful in presenting information to potential clients. Experience in food science, food safety, food processing, or food quality assurance is recommended to identify with the concerns and challenges of clients and potential clients. Working knowledge of computers, Google suite, and Microsoft software products is essential for performing duties. Good organizational skills and time management are essential to perform assigned tasks. Strong interpersonal communication skills are critical in order to promote company services and programs, identify and respond to clients and potential client’s needs, and to build professional relationships.

Job Complexity
This position makes frequent calls to clients and potential clients to determine their needs and interest level in Merieux NutriSciences products and services, and to further qualify and segment leads and develop proposals. In order to provide quality service, information given to clients must be accurate and current. The position responds to clients and prospects’ questions of a routine nature. The position may receive more complex questions that may require some research and follow-up. The position will need to keep abreast of new and developing product and test information to ensure potential clients are not receiving information that is outdated or inaccurate. Data sources typically used to solve problems include discussions with the Expert Services team, industry experts, and written documentation on service and product lines. Work results are reviewed frequently by the Director and Executive Management.
Decision Making or Recommendations
Using a predefined matrix, this person determines when a lead needs to be forwarded to a technical leader and when the position will follow the sales process to the end. The position uses the best tactic to probe for additional information about products and/or services needed. Some limited pricing decisions, within a predefined matrix, will be made by this position. The position determines the best method of achieving daily work goals jointly with the Director. Decisions made by this position may impact the department’s strategic personnel goals and client’s and potential client’s satisfaction.

Accountability
Under direct supervision of the Business Development Director, Research Services, the position work and resulting new business is reviewed on a frequent basis by the supervisor as tasks are undertaken and completed. The position works toward specific goals and targets established with the supervisor to provide prompt and accurate service to clients and potential clients. The position is responsible for the communication of information to clients and potential clients. Accuracy of information given to, or obtained from clients and potential clients is essential for developing good relationships. Defining the needs of potential clients is important in determining the qualifications of prospective clients.

Work Environment: (include travel if applicable)
The position works in an office environment in which surroundings are usually comfortable and pleasant. The usual work hours are 40 hours a week. Some special projects may require the position to work extended hours. The position spends extended periods of time on the telephone/computer talking with clients, potential clients, and the Merieux NutriSciences team, while also reviewing information on a computer screen. Physical dexterity in operating a keyboard is required. Infrequent travel may occur at offsite meetings or training seminars.
