Merchants Fleet is Hiring a Benefits Specialist (On-Site Hooksett, NH) Near Hooksett, NH

Merchants Fleet is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Specialist, Benefits to join our team at our headquarters in Hooksett, NH. As a Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the administration, compliance, and communication of our company benefits, ensuring our employees receive the support and resources they need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Benefit Administration: Ensure accuracy in benefit enrollments, providing employees, management, and vendors with precise information.
  • New Hire Orientations: Conduct orientations to ensure new employees understand benefit offerings and make informed decisions.
  • Training and Communication: Develop employee training and support materials, partnering with our Benefit Broker to design and distribute informative collateral.
  • Billing and Compliance: Audit and process monthly benefit bills, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including ACA, ERISA, and OSHA.
  • Leave of Absence Management: Administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork, interpreting FMLA and ADA implications as necessary.
  • Payroll Coordination: Work closely with payroll to ensure accurate benefit-related payroll records.
  • Cost Monitoring and Efficiency Recommendations: Monitor benefit program costs, recommending efficiencies and alternatives where appropriate.
  • Safety and Wellness Programs: Lead a safety committee, develop workplace safety programs, and assist in wellness program initiatives.
  • 401(k) Administration: Assist in the day-to-day administration of our 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Total Rewards Strategy: Participate in benefits and total rewards strategy discussions.
  • Employee Engagement: Assist in company employee engagement and recognition initiatives.

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience with comprehensive benefit administration.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers compensation, Medicare, and Social Security.
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality; absolute discretion in handling sensitive/confidential information, strong ethics, and ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Professional, patient and empathetic.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Team oriented but proven ability to work independently.
  • Self-starter with exceptional work ethic.
  • Ability to manage competing demands while being extremely adaptable and flexible; must be organized and able to multi-task in a busy environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks to meet requirements and time sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Advanced Excel Skills) and HR/Payroll software required. Experience with Dayforce preferred.

Schedule and Location:

  • Monday to Friday with a hybrid option, including remote work up to two days per week.

Salary: $65 - 75K Bonus & Benefits
