We are a queer owned, NP run psychiatric practice aimed towards access for individuals for diagnosis, medication management, and overall improvement in well being. We are welcoming to all, but strive to be LGBTQIA accessible and providers within the LGBTQIA are preferred.
We are virtual with expectations of 1 day in the office - weekly or every other - which is located in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with specialization in psychiatric-mental health
- Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Valid New York State Nurse Practitioner license and DEA registration without restriction.
- Excellent assessment, diagnostic, and clinical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
Duties include:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric-mental health care to patients across the lifespan
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients' mental health conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
- Prescribe and manage psychopharmacological medications as appropriate
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies
- Monitor and evaluate patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Fill out forms, write letters, and paperwork associated with their mental health journey.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment strategies
This position offers competitive compensation. The exact salary will depend on qualifications, experience, and location. We do not offer benefits at this time.
