Responsible for overseeing the revenue cycle processes within departmental billing functions. Oversees the benefit verification process, insurance authorizations, and denial investigations. Performs daily charge and co-payment reconciliations to ensure accurate entry and collections. Maintains current knowledge with regard to CMS and other private insurance rules and regulations. Assists with keeping patient throughput to ensure revenue and volume targets are met within the outpatient areas. Maintains the documentation of the Budget System and the processes, modeling and information used to develop the budget. This individual will utilize the Budget System to support assigned departments with training on the use of the Budget System and will work with them to develop their budget models and financial budget. He/she will utilize the Budget System to support assigned departments by providing them with complete and accurate financial information to make appropriate decisions and monitor performance and improvement. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.
