Job Summary: 

We are looking for a dedicated, collaborative, value driven employee that wants to make a difference. The Eugene/Springfield area is located 75 minutes to the beautiful Oregon Coast and 1 ½ hours to winter sports at Mt. Bachelor. The vibrant city of Portland, OR can be reached in under 2 hours. Fresh air with a plethora of outdoor activities await a short drive from our hospital. Eugene, Oregon is known as Track Town, USA. Cheer on one of the University of Oregon’s sports teams or attend the NCAA Track and Field Championship or the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials less than 10 minutes from our hospital.

Serves as Human Resources Generalist for various human resources functions such as employee and labor relations, provide policy, program and procedure interpretation and guidance, education on employee benefits, leave management, compensation management. Facilitates and communicates organizational policies and programs and ensures labor law and regulatory compliance. Provides internal support and guidance to employees and managers/directors. Some examples of duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Manage the Employee Relations and Labor Relations issues for their assigned client group
  • Manage the Leave of Absence Process for the employee’s in your assigned client group
  • Manage the Workers Comp process for the employee’s in your assigned client group
  • Process Union Grievances for your assigned client group
  • Maintains general knowledge of applicable laws and regulations of human resources functions by staying abreast of current HR principles, techniques, and practices.
  • Employs continuous improvement principles to reduce manual processing.
  • Helps to ensure that compensation issues are compliant to the various labor contracts and unrepresented staff policies and procedures.
  • Is actively involved in employee recognition activities.
  • Maintains evaluation tracker on all employees; processes all probationary period evals, orientation guidelines and annual evaluations.
  • OSHA related duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Federal, State and Local Employment laws
  • Knowledge of the UltiPro HRIS System preferred
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and listening skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work on several projects at once
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Experience, Education, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with major or emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field. The equivalent in work experience may be considered.
  • 5 years Human Resources Generalist experience required
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Effective communication skills – written, verbal and listening skills.
  • Prior Employee Relations Experience highly desired
  • Prior Labor Relations experience preferred
