HR Generalist

What you will do:

Responsible for all human resource issues including staffing, staff relations, orientation and development, compensation, and benefits. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Responsibilities:

• Tracks annual and 90-day evaluations.
• Sets up onboarding, Background Checks and Offer Letters through HRIS Software System
• Reviews and refers qualified applicants to department managers.
• Possesses knowledge of various Human Resources forms, i.e., applications, and benefit forms.
• Set up pre-employment drug screens and Agility Tests.
• Reviews benefits with all new employees, answers ongoing benefit questions.
• Demonstrates the ability to keep confidentiality of sensitive information of personnel records and information.
• Formats distinct types of reports, letters, general correspondence for department managers and HR staff.
• Assist HR Director on a wide range of staff performance issues and evaluations.
• Processes and manages the administration of FMLA, ADA, STD, and LTD claims.
• Supports and keeps a culture of safety and quality.
• Assists with Human Resources projects.
• Verifies employment and keeps employee confidentiality with outside callers.
• Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the facility as well as the focus statement of the department.
• Maintains a good working relationship with both the HR department and with other McKenzie Health departments.
• Recruitment and job postings.
• Answers the phone in a professional manner. Able to answer Human Resource questions; directs other questions/inquiries to proper staff for resolution.
• Scans employee documents into HR system.

What you will need:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources preferred and/or related experience in the field.
• 2 years of experience in Human Resources preferred.
• Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local registration relating to Human Resources, i.e., Title VII of the Civil Right Act of 1964, Affirmative Action, ADA, FMLA.
• Meticulous.
• Excellent communication skills
