McHenry County is Hiring a Maintenance Technician II Near Woodstock, IL

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of technical duties associated with Facilities Management, equipment, and maintenance.

We are looking for candidates who have experience with electrical work, working with panels etc. While you might be assisting with HVAC because there's some electrical components with that, that is not the whole job.

If you meet the minimum requirements please apply, but if you don't and you're experience is only with HVAC, that won't be what we're looking for in this position.

This position is under the Local 150 Union Contract and the hourly pay of $26.50 is NOT negotiable.

Work Week: Monday - Friday

Hours: 8:am - 4:30pm 40 hours

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs or directs electrical work including but not limited to installs electrical wiring and makes electrical connections, installs lights, and changes ballasts, repairs or rebuilds motors, maintains emergency generators, runs new conduit, pulls and terminates low voltage cable, performs preventative maintenance on switch gear, transformers and service panels, troubleshoots and repairs fire alarm systems and components.
  • Assists in maintaining and repairing heating and air conditioning systems, conducts preventive maintenance schedule on equipment, performs visual inspections of equipment, and maintains service and repair records.
  • Performs or directs a variety of skilled building maintenance duties as required: Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing and General Maintenance work as required.
  • Assures that parts are in stock or have been ordered.
  • Responds to emergency situations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; and,
  • Four to six years of progressively responsible experience in troubleshooting and installing electrical components.
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid State Driver’s License
