JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the administration, operation, evaluation, and budget management of the Health Department’s Maternal Child Health programs including Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes/High Risk Infant Follow-Up, HealthWorks of Illinois, Lead Screening & Prevention, and Immunization services.

HOURS:

Also requires some night and weekend on-call.

JOB FUNCTION:

• Plans and implements program(s) goals, objectives and strategies to ensure efficient organization and compliance with State and Federal standards, policies and guidelines.
• Actively participates in recruitment, supervision, training and evaluation of program personnel. Implements, and monitors program budget(s) provided by Nursing Administration.
• Collaborates with community partners and other Health Department Programs to advance Department initiatives.
• Coordinates community outreach and education with program staff.
• Participates in regional meeting/training opportunities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Registered Professional Nurse licensed in Illinois with two years’ experience in community health or maternal/child health nursing;
• or a Registered Professional Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and one year of experience in community health or maternal/child health nursing.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of progressively responsible experience preferred.

Other requirements:

All Health Department staff are required to be up to date on the COVID vaccination series as determined by the CDC, including all primary series doses and boosters as of September 2023, as a term and condition of employment with the Department. In addition, proof of all vaccines are mandatory for employment with the Health Dept., including the flu vaccine.
