McHenry County is Hiring an Administrative Specialist I Near Woodstock, IL

This position will be available after June 14, 2024.

Job Overview:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Administrative Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support, handle data entry tasks, and assist in project coordination.

Responsibilities:
- Perform general office duties including data entry, filing, and maintaining records
- Coordinate projects by scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and following up on action items
- Provide excellent customer service by answering phones, responding to inquiries, and directing calls appropriately
- Assist with office management tasks such as ordering supplies and maintaining office equipment
- Utilize computer skills to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Ensure efficient operation of phone systems and maintain proper phone etiquette

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in administrative roles or similar positions
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience in data entry and record keeping
- Ability to coordinate projects and work well in a team environment
- Familiarity with office management practices
- Exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills

Education and Experience:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Vocational School

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1 year related experience, with the desire to grow within Human Resources.
  • Experience in using Kronos is desirable.
  • Must be able to lift between 10-20 lbs.
