The McClain Restaurant Group is searching for Front of House Managers to join our team! We are a family owned and operated restaurant group with 8 restaurants located in Independence, Missouri. Our central location on the Historic Independence Square is an easy commute from most all locations and means that there is no Kansas City Earnings Tax.
We currently are seeking front of house managers and bar managers for Cafe Verona and Ophelia’s Restaurant & Inn. Ophelia’s offers upscale American cuisine and a sophisticated dining experience. Cafe Verona offers delicious Northern Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere. We are looking for a self-starter with great communication and leadership skills to manage our front of house operations. We are dedicated to providing our guests with the highest quality food from our kitchens and creating an excellent customer experience. The ideal candidates have an entrepreneurial spirit and are passionate about the hospitality industry.
We are looking for a self-starter with great communication and leadership skills to manage our front of house operations. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and is passionate about the hospitality industry. This full-time management position includes managing all front of house team members, placing orders and maintaining vendor relationships and interviewing, hiring and training new team members.
Job Responsibilities of the Restaurant Manager:
Manage a team of front of house staff including scheduling, training, and general supervision
Recruit, interview, hire, train and inspire team members
Organize and maintain timely paperwork
Control beverage and front of house labor costs
Oversee that all opening and closing duties are completed correctly and that the restaurant is clean and well-maintained
Responsible for daily deposits and correct operation of the POS system
Enforce and monitor all health, safety, and sanitation standards
Assist with banquets and catering
Provide excellent customer service to guests and excellent leadership to team members
Work closely with the Chef to provide a seamless experience
Report and collaborate directly with Directer of Operations
Have strong wine knowledge
Job Requirements of the Restaurant Manager:
Strong leadership skills and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
Knowledgeable and passionate about food and wine
Familiarity with POS system: Toast
Minimum of 2-3 years of full service restaurant or bar management experience preferable
