Mayor and City Council of Baltimore is Hiring a Remote Systems Analyst - Baltimore City Health Department

POSTING DATE: 04/29/2024 CLOSING DATE: 05/13/2024 AT 12:00 MIIDNIGHT SALARY $72,624.00 - $116.198.00 Annually EDUCATION ACCREDITATION: Applicant’s education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Education credentials obtained out of the US must be evaluated for US equivalency. Evaluation agencies information may be obtained at www.naces.org. ELIGIBILITY: Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at least six months. The decision of the Director of Human Resources with respect to acceptable minimum qualifications is final. CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK: Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to this position identified as positions of trust will be required to authorize the release of and successfully complete a Fingerprint check. PROBATION: All persons, including current City employees, selected from this position will be on probation for 6 months. CLASS DESCRIPTION A Systems Analyst I develop systems designs, specifications and procedures. The work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class may be required to work shifts, weekends and holidays. Work is performed in an office where working conditions are normal. The work requires minimal physical exertion. SELECTION PROCESS All candidates indicating the minimum qualifications on their applications will be placed on the eligible list without further examination. The training and experience of each candidate will be evaluated for appropriateness and quantity. It is essential, therefore, that you give complete and accurate information on your application. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must: EDUCATION: Have a bachelor's degree in electronic data processing or computer science from an accredited college or university. AND EXPERIENCE: Have four years of experience in preparing programs for computers including two years in systems design. OR NOTES (EQUIVALENCIES): Have an equivalent combination of education and experience. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of the principles and practices of systems analysis and design. Knowledge of the interrelationship of systems analysis, computer programming and data processing operations. Ability to design complex systems consisting of a wide variety of programs, procedures and forms. Ability to analyze the cost of systems installation and maintenance and to make recommendations. Ability to prepare systems forms, documents, files, specifications, instructions and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with associates and computer users. Ability to advise and provide direction and guidance to others on systems design and computer programming.
