Matrix Providers is Hiring a Remote Payroll Coordinator - Remote

URGENT: Matrix is hiring a highly motivated, driven, and detail-focused individual to join our team as a Payroll Coordinator! The ideal candidate will have the discipline to work in a remote/home office environment and is passionate about providing excellent customer service to employees.

  • Status: Full-time
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, between 9 AM to 5 PM. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but employees must be available during “core” work hours.
  • Benefits: Competitive financial package with a comprehensive insurance package including health, dental, vision, and life coverage for full-time positions.

Position Requirements:

  • Associates Degree and 3-5 years experience in multi-state payroll processing.
  • Preference for FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Experience with Deltek CostPoint software and ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
  • Experience in or working knowledge of Government contracting is a plus.
  • Highly motivated, able to meet tight deadlines, and work well under pressure.
  • Flexibility - the ability to adapt to changing needs of the organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities and a self-starter.
  • SCA Compliance knowledge preferred
  • Top-notch communication skills (oral and written), ability to work in a team environment and drive inter­departmental cooperation and solutions.

Responsibilities and Functions:

  • Ensure accurate/timely payroll processing while maximizing efficiencies, maintaining operational standards, and adhering to department policies and procedures.
  • Maintains payroll systems with updates to earning codes, deductions codes, including year-end carry-over processes to maintain annual balances.
  • Responsible for payroll reconciliations, ad hoc reporting, and payroll/benefit audits.
  • Responsible for payroll tax administration.
  • Responsible for payroll tasks, including but not limited to adjustments, new hires and terminations, timecards/amended timecards, manual checks, commissions and quarterly bonuses, 3rd party sick pay, reimbursements, PTO accruals and payouts, etc.
  • Responsible for Timecard tracking and reporting for W2 and 1099 staff.
  • Frequent evaluation and auditing of new hire profiles, deductions, net wages, paid time off, etc.
  • Responsible for preparation and distribution of reports to departmental managers
  • Regular reporting of employee changes, ACA (Affordable Care Act) hours, headcount, PTO, Sick accruals and carryover, and other government reports as required.
  • Manage the order office supplies.
  • Review W-2 and assist with W2 labor processing.
  • Assist with month end and year end activities
  • Assist and back up Timecard Coordinators as necessary.
