Advancement Operations Specialist Job Description

Unique opportunity to join Maryhaven, Central Ohio’s largest and most comprehensive behavioral services provider specializing in addiction recovery. We are looking for skilled, talented, and compassionate people to join our team! Maryhaven was founded on the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in 1953, opening our doors to serve an overlooked segment of our population, women in need of substance abuse recovery services. The Advancement Operations Specialists will identify and apply for various grants that meet the organization’s needs, overseeing the grant application process from beginning to end. Will also develop fundraising programs, recruit sponsors and volunteers, and encouraging support through promotional activities. This individual will also act in a project management capacity helping to identify and prioritize fundraising and marketing efforts to support all programming and regional needs for the organization. Leading efforts to map out all marketing and development activities and campaigns in partnership with the Chief Advancement Officer to build capacity and brand awareness for the organization will be critical. Data entry and optimization regularly as needed. 

Advancement Operations Specialist Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • At least three years of experience in grant writing and/or fundraising experience highly preferred.
  • Proven record of successful fundraising campaigns.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and prepare budgets and financial grant reports.
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal funding sources and the ability to locate potential sources for funding required.
  • Understanding of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations required.
  • Experience in creating a common narrative to help articulate the complicated and robust work of an organization to ensure growth in the areas of fundraising, client retention, and brand awareness is highly desired. 
  • Proven success in tailoring messages and outputs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and project management abilities.
