Martek Global Services, Inc. is seeking a knowledgeable, highly organized, and self-motivated Staff Accountant. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and will be working on a team for all accounting and bookkeeping matters within the Accounting Department. This position will fully manage and administer Martek’s payroll (current size approximately 160 employees) through ADP. Other responsibilities and duties include managing the day-to-day aspects of the company including payroll, general ledger accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor and client contracts management.

Responsibilities & Duties

In this position, the primary responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:

• Perform routine accounting activities such as processing invoices and account reconciliations.
• Support the maintenance of the accounting systems of Martek, and their subsidiaries.
• Assist in the implementation and management of accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist with payroll functions such as benefits and timecard management.
• Provide support for the generation of the month-end & year-end close.
• Assist in production of the financial reports on a regular basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Educational & Experience Requirements

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Accounting is required.
• This position requires the candidate to have a strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel.
• ADP experience preferred.
