Job Description
General Responsibilities
Assist the Controller in completing daily accounting activities of the company, specifically in the areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
Essential Duties
- Accurate and timely production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Post monthly journal entries accurately and timely.
- Assist with balance sheet account and general ledger reconciliations and analysis on a monthly/quarterly basis for the entire portfolio.
- Assist with Financial statement preparation.
- Assist with completing bank reconciliations accurately and timely.
- Assist with monitoring reserve and operating accounts to ensure compliance with Federal account balance limits.
- Assist with the calculation of Management Fees and production of related invoices and backup by third business day of each month.
- Work with accounts receivable staff to ensure accuracy of resident’s ledgers including rent assessments, payments, security deposits and move-in/move-outs.
- Assist the Controller with annual audits and serve as a lead in preparing various year-end supporting workpapers.
- Assist with special projects as requested by Controller and Senior Management.
- Solid knowledge / understanding of accounting principles and full-cycle accounting functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills.
- Willing to work in office (at least 4 days per week).
- Other duties as assigned.
