Job Description:
Mars Wrigley has embarked on a multi-year digital transformation program called Supply Chain Data & Analytics (SCDA) that spans Supply, Commercial, R&D, and—uniquely—the untapped intersections between the functions.
The E2E Visibility tool is an essential element of the Mars Wrigley Resilience strategy, bringing transparency to the supply chain from farm to customer warehouse. The tool helps the business identify vulnerabilities, rapidly test disruption scenarios, and prioritize contingency planning activities based on data and analytics insights
The Global Resilience team is recruiting a 24-month transformation Global Product Owner, a key role that is empowered to own solution design and delivery advancing the Product Roadmap within the resilience pillar of SCDA.
This role has a strong potential to transition into a permanent Mars role prior to the conclusion of the transformation period, where appropriate.
Analytics foundation – understanding of the different types of analytics, awareness of algorithms in machine learning and operations research, numerical and digital literacy
Experience, during at least a couple of years, in delivery management of analytical products, or awareness of the drivers of complexity within delivery
Strength in business-to-science translation to enable partnering with business teams and technology teams in bringing analytics product ideas to life
Product mindset – intellectual curiosity, ability to tie features to value, relentless focus on product adoption
Fluency in English
Location: US, Europe (UK, Netherlands, Germany, France)
Transformational role: 24 months Fixed Term Contract (with the possibility of becoming permanent)
Working as an Individual contributor, but in connection with many teams and users
Great communication skills
The Global Product Owner has primary accountability for delivering data & analytics Product Releases that advance a Product Manager’s roadmap:
Owns the cleaned & prioritized Release backlog, ensuring the team is working on the most meaningful features toward solving the business problem
Makes decisions on design features
Translates features to stories
Defines technical specs, acceptance criteria, and timing
Connects voices of product users and developers
Speaks both operations & technology (including advanced analytics) with moderate proficiency
Asks questions of users and developers to uncover latent decisions and needs the Product will support
Creates space for development teams to innovate and generate new IP
