POSITION SUMMARY
Overseen by the Chief HR Officer, the Human Resource Manager is directly responsible for the overall implementation, administration, and coordination of recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Administers human resources plans and procedures for all personnel.
· Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.
· Manages and conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees; coordinates with recruitment and hiring managers for interviews; conducts new-employee orientations; coordinates with other department personnel for the onboarding process.
· Manages onboarding process from beginning through the end of probation, which includes but is not limited to drafting position descriptions, processing new hire paperwork, conducting background and motor vehicle record checks, processing E-verification and ensuring all conditions of continued employment are met.
· Maintains department records and reports, including records in Rhoads’ HRIS system; maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
· Monitor and track employee development plans and training requirements.
· Responsible for submission and tracking of all training grants.
· Manage pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs – tracking progress through Workforce development organizations and within the Rhoads organization.
· Maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
· Manage and track all employee performance management functions.
· Conducts exit interviews; monitors and closes out employee files.
· Distributes company communications includes new hire announcements, work, anniversaries, terminations, etc.
· Maintains HR Sharepoint team site.
· Nurtures a positive work environment.
· Ensure proper adherence to compliance policies and procedures.
· Supports the Chief Human Resources Officer in all aspects of HR; performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
· Required:
o Bachelor’s degree in human resource management.
·Preferred:
o PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
o At least 7 years of experience in human resource leadership with labor relations exposure.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Proven working experience as an HR Manager or other similar position; appropriate combination of education and experience.
· Ability to work independently as well as to function effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills; detail oriented and efficient.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities in a rapidly growing organization; experience managing personnel.
· Records maintenance skills.
· Knowledge of HRIS systems and databases.
· General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
· Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality; mature communication skills.
· Proficient with computer applications – have a thorough understanding of the MS Office suite and the ability to learn and master other computer/technology software programs as needed. Good command of Internet usage
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required.
· Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving in an automobile
· May require walking and standing on irregular, uneven surfaces in an industrial setting and possibly at increased heights climbing and descending ladders and ship stairways.
