About the Position
The IT Services Technician provides Maricopa County customers with direct and remote support to address incidents and requests. They manage ticket queues with a focus on meeting Service Level Targets (SLTs) as well as maintaining detailed resolution documentation and providing exceptional customer communication. The IT Services Technician is responsible for delivering excellent customer service and provide proactive desktop technical support of PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, virtual desktop environments, and other supported peripheral devices. Projects range from discovering software solutions meeting customer needs to the deployment of thousands of computers across the county.

We Require
Three years of technology-related experience, including performing a combination of installing, loading, and configuring microcomputer hardware and software, detecting/resolving computer and printer problems
High-School diploma or GED equivalent
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
We Value
An Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with user and device management in Microsoft Active Directory
A certification
ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent
Job Contributions
Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software applications for desktops and laptop fleet, computer systems, and peripheral equipment
Meet customer demands, prioritize workloads, coordinate activities, and ensure that activities comply with industry best practices and Maricopa County standards
Maintain a high level of communication with customers with respect to scheduling support call follow-up and confirmation of resolution
Manage service ticket queues and resolve daily hardware and software support incidents and requests in a timely and professional manner
Identify potential service level problems before they occur
Participate in scaled departmental technology refreshes
Maintain accurate inventories of hardware, devices, and software
Assist with equipment moves, along with unloading of new equipment and disposal of old equipment to salvage vendor
Experience with imaging computers and using a service request and incident tracking system
Working Conditions
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when necessary
This position entails lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds, bending, and moving as necessary. It may also entail prolonged periods of sitting and occasional walking between locations
Physical presence at various work locations within Maricopa County is necessary
This role may include operating a County vehicle to travel to various remote sites within the County as required, to address tasks and resolve issues for supported departments
Hybrid work schedules are contingent upon work assignment and subject to management approval
