Position Overview

Manatt Health includes more than 200 consultants and lawyers whose mission is to co-create with clients a more accessible, more equitable, high-quality system of health that promotes human wellbeing. Serving all corners of the industry, Manatt Health professionals represent a range of clients—states, foundations and associations, providers and academic institutions, health plans and emerging companies—to address their business policy, strategy and legal needs.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our marketing and business development team as a Thought Leadership Manager for Health Care. In this role, you will manage thought leadership content for Manatt Health, primarily white papers, newsletters, articles, client alerts and webinars. This is a high-volume position with many moving parts and priorities best suited for an experienced business professional in the health care industry, with demonstrated project management experience and success working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Senior Director of Business Development and Strategic Initiatives.

This is an ideal time to join our dynamic and growing business development and marketing team. We are looking for a team player who will work closely and collaboratively with our broader team and can make a difference from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the processes and foundations of Manatt Health’s thought leadership (white papers, newsletters, articles, client alerts and webinars) program and make recommendations on opportunities to best support, through operational improvements or otherwise, the continued growth of the Manatt Health brand.
  • Review and synthesize thought leadership metrics into actionable qualitative and quantitative strategic insights and solutions. Provide analyses and findings for a variety of settings and audiences.
  • Work alongside subject matter experts to ensure the timely distribution of educational content to Manatt Health audiences on a regular basis, enhancing the Firm's recognition as a thought leader in the health care industry. Partner with various departments to ensure clear communication and coordination at every phase of a project's lifecycle.
  • Copy edit and proof a range of Manatt Health content, such as web posts, articles, white papers and marketing materials.
  • Ensure thought leadership program is aligned with Manatt Health’s overall vision, mission and goals.
  • Work to institute business development rigor into our thought leadership program and operationalize a method for obtaining feedback, tracking and actioning opportunities with leads.
  • Leveraging data and analytics, develop actionable recommendations to improve engagement with Manatt Health readership
  • Engage in collaborative efforts across the marketing and business development department, and specifically with the events, marketing technology and communications teams.
  • Keep current on the health care industry, particularly as it relates to the areas in which Manatt Health assists clients, so that you can bring a strategic viewpoint to our thought leadership program and make suggestions on topics, speakers and attendees.
  • Other content requirements, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of experience; health care background required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Exceptional project management experience
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities in order to overcome challenges and make informed project-related choices.
  • Demonstrated time management capabilities along with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, fostering collaboration and building strong relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • Availability to work in-office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and more as needed; willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed

The base annual pay range for this role is between $135,000-$170,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
