RF Test Engineering Technician 

As a “hands on” 2^nd shift RF Test Engineering Technician at MACOM, you will partner with RF Test Engineers and production test floor staff to develop and support advanced RF test solutions at MACOM’s Nashua site. You will be challenged by a diverse mix of new products, applications and technologies as MACOM serves a broad spectrum of high performance markets “from RF to light”. You will also be responsible for supporting the production test floor to ensure smooth and continuous operation of test hardware and software. Your skills and knowledge related to RF/DC test and measurement instruments and methods will be key to your success, as will your attention to detail, ability to communicate ideas and your passion for excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Perform set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
• Establish routine maintenance procedures of RF components (cal kits, cables, power combiners, pads, filters, couplers, etc.).
• Determine and develop device test plans, methods and procedures from specifications, CAD drawings and diagrams.
• Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions.
• Respond to and support low yielding production test setups to identify and remedy any test related root causes.
• Organize storage of lab equipment and components.
• Perform PCB rework.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience as RF characterization tech.
• Excellent mechanical, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for test software and hardware.
• Detailed knowledge of RF theory & techniques.
• Understanding of RF measurements: Gain, IP3, IP2, P1dB, Harmonics, Noise Figure, MxN Spurs, s-parameters.
• Working knowledge of RF Instruments: Network Analyzer, Power Supplies, DMM, Spectrum Analyzer, Noise Figure Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Power Meter, RF Source.
• Experience extracting information from databases and creating reports.
• Practical experience with HT Basic, VEE Visual Basic, Perl and LabVIEW desirable. 
• Familiarity with both Linux and MS Windows OS.
