Position Summary/Responsibilities/Qualifications:
- Provides professional nursing care to assigned residents in a nursing home environment.
- Registered Nurse with license in NYS.
- Preferably at least two years of recent acute or long term care experience
- Experience in supervision/administration a plus!
- Good organization, communication and human relations skills.
- Must be physically and mentally capable of performing routine job duties
- Strives for excellence in all aspects of quality nursing care
- Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications.
- Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records.
- Be personable with residents, families, and staff in a professional, cooperative and sensitive manner
- Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding for the elderly
- Possess the leadership qualities that motivate and direct.
- Has the ability to supervise all aides in performing their duties by checking their work closely to ensure all assignments have been completed with care and accuracy
