The Kingdom East School District, Student Services, is seeking a 0.88 FTE School Nurse assigned to the Lyndon Town School beginning August 21, 2024 and with other opportunities for school nurse leadership in the district starting as soon as July 1, 2023. This position will join our current full time nurse in our school of approximately 500 students, grades PreK-8. The goal for the school nurse is to serve students with immediate or ongoing health concerns in a timely and friendly manner, to promote healthy habits, and maintain a friendly and welcoming setting for students with health needs. Our school nurses also work to increase the number of students receiving well-care and dental visits, ensure vision and hearing screenings are performed in a timely manner, ensure all students with special health needs have current individual health plans within the first two weeks of school, update and maintain electronic health records, help with immunization entry, process updated student health forms within the first weeks of school, and work to increase the number of students who have health insurance. School nursing is an independent specialty practice, as described in Vermont Agency of Education The Standards of School Nursing Practice.
