We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in dental assisting and a passion for helping others. Our practice is a private practice (NO DSO), female, and minority owned dental office. We are located in North East Houston in the Suburbs of Atascocita, Summerwood area. We are looking for a committed, flexible team member that can be reliable and willing to grow as the practice grows. We are willing to hire candidates with no experience but with the right attitud.
```Responsibilities```
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform dental charting and record medical documentation
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures, passing instruments and materials as needed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate records
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment
```Skills```
To excel in this role, you should have the following skills:
- Dental assisting experience, with knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Proficiency in open dental software for patient management
- Bilingual in Spanish is important as most of clientele are Spanish speakers
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques for capturing dental images
- Understanding of medical coding principles for billing purposes
- Ability to maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique to ensure infection control
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Prepare patients for oral examination and assist dental providers in chair-side procedures
· Prepare rooms and set up instruments
· Take records, impressions, and high-quality radiographs (Digital sensors)
· Provide oral hygiene education to patients and families
· Prepare and maintain accurate OSHA records, logs and reports
· Complete and maintain dental laboratory forms
· Sterilize instruments, organize instruments.
Ability to take direction from supervisors
· Flexible availability
· Organizational skills
· Other duties as assisting front desk tasks when needed and answering phones.
