Compensation

The salary for this role is $130,000 - $150,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California. This salary range may also be modified in the future.

About the Role:

LS Power is seeking a Manager of Engineering who will have day-to-day responsibility for successfully supporting development engineering through construction hand-off for complex utility scale renewable energy and green hydrogen projects. In this role, your responsibilities include collaboration with internal resources and providing oversight of external support resources and activities to ensure project success. It will also include technology assessment, supporting contract negotiation with equipment manufacturers and outside engineering firms, drafting scopes of work, preparing budgets, as well as managing costs and schedules.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

• Project site evaluation, transmission grid study and interconnection support along with wind and solar resource assessment.
• Conceptual product and systems engineering for integrating multiple energy systems.
• Developing facilities plans and specifications, environmental permitting support, and coordinating infrastructure interfaces.
• Provide inputs to project finance models, levelized cost of energy (LCOE) calculations, help create tools, models, specifications, and processes to optimize plant performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university
• Have 3 to 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in the renewable energy industry
• Effectively manage multiple assignments under time constraints
• Are a solutions-focused team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team
• Have excellent time management and organizational skills
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Work independently with direction on a regular basis

Ideally you also have...

• Experience with Solar & BESS modelling
• Data center development engineering experience.
• Wind project experience, its energy estimation, and GIS / CAD skills.
