Nurse Manager – PediatricsLowell Community Health Center, Lowell MA

This is a highly desirable role overseeing the Pediatric Service line at the Lowell Community Health Center. Working with the Director of Nursing, the Pediatrics Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Pediatric Department by supervising and mentoring the nursing and ancillary pediatric team members. The Manager will direct assignments and activities of the pediatric nurses and ancillary staff, assist with performance evaluations, and oversee performance improvement as it relates to patient care.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Assisting and supporting all human resource functions for nursing and ancillary team members including maintaining appropriate documentation and ensuring compliance with all policies and requirements.
· Managing staff schedules and coverage to meet patient care and regulatory requirements.
· Assuming managerial duties for performance evaluations and maintaining systems to provide regular feedback and evaluation for employees.
· Assisting the Director of Nursing in developing and implementing staff training and development programs to meet continuing education and contractual requirements.
· Overseeing and controlling supplies that directly impact patient care.
· Assisting the Director by providing Quality Management direction and oversight for nursing and ancillary activities.
· Actively participating in the Clinical Quality Committee and ensuring that regular monitors are conducted and reported on.
· Assisting in the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
· Participating as needed in all program, licensure, and other external audits and in the preparation of Corrective Action Plans.
Position Requirements:
· A current Massachusetts RN license and BCLS certification are required. A BSN is preferred
· A minimum of three years experience in direct patient care in Pediatrics.
· A minimum of three years of increasingly responsible nursing management experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, detail, and interpersonal skills.
· Computer skills are essential.
