Banquet & Facilities Technician

Position Description

The Lord Baltimore Hotel is a rich historical hotel offering class, charm, and elegance, located in downtown Baltimore. We are in search of a Banquet & Facilities Technician. The Banquet Facilities Tech is an hourly nonexempt position, reporting to the Banquet Manager. This position is an integral part of the Food and Beverage Team and works to ensure the hotel’s event spaces and equipment are in excellent shape for rental events. The Banquet & Facilities Tech is onsite from event set up to breakdown and handles all physical logistics. Other responsibilities assigned by the Banquet Manager include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

· Set up tables and chairs for events

· Put on tablecloths, chair covers, centerpieces, etc.

· Greet and check in vendors, products and equipement needed for events

· Maintain and clean hotel’s banquet rooms

· Assemble and set up equipment such as dance floors, podiums, risers, etc.

· Set up and breakdown all events, including all décor, refreshing banquet rooms after events

· Maintain care and inventory of equipment and storage areas

· Record damages to Banquet Manager and make repairs as assigned

· Keep a running list of repairs

· Setting up rooms per client’s needs via Banquet Event Orders

· Attend Department meetings

· Accompany Banquet Manager or site visits (if necessary)

· Other duties as assigned.

Compensation & Perks:

This is a non-exempt “on-call as needed” part-time position with the possibility of becoming full-time. Hourly compensation is $17.50 - $19.00 per hour. Employee discounts, discount parking and daily meals, depending on your shift.
