About Lakewood Regional Support

Our regional support center provides resources to our hotels for multiple areas including Human Resources, Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Security, Group Reservations, Guest Contact Center, Information Technology, Laundry and Communications.

Work within the Human Resources team to make Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando the employer of choice in Central Florida by providing consistently fair, productive and proactive work environment where team members are treated with respect and courtesy and are acknowledged and rewarded for the outstanding hospitality product and service they provide. The benefits specialist is responsible for overseeing and administering all facets of our benefit programs. They should be familiar with all state and federal regulations impacting benefits, such as ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ERISA and 401(k) in order to ensure compliance with all our programs. They specialize in health insurance, retirement plans and leave of absence programs. Our team members rely on us to administer and manage their benefits accurately and effectively, and we take pride in providing that service.

Job Specific

  • Conduct new team member benefits orientation, open enrollment sessions and others as needed. Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Counsels team members on benefit, leave of absence, eligibility issues and provide assistance with online enrollment. Provides guidance and a resource to team members and HR field team on complex benefit processes and issues to ensure understanding.
  • Analyze and problem solve claim, eligibility and benefit issues for team members in order to bring resolution to their concern, ensure effective utilization of plans and provide positive employee relations. Act as a liaison with the team member, vendors and/or HR field team.
  • Manage individual workflow effectively and improve processes when necessary. Apply federal regulations, policies, procedures and terminology to daily work.
  • Extensive work in HRIS, vendor systems, report writing, time and attendance and Microsoft office programs.

General

  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
  • May be required to work varying schedules, which may include weekends, to reflect business needs.
  • Required to attend all training sessions and meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations impacting benefits (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, 401(k), HIPAA, FMLA).
  • Strong customer service, detail oriented, commitment to perform and produce at the highest level of quality at all times.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish/Creole) not mandatory.
