Lochmueller Group is Hiring a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Near Indianapolis, IN

Lochmueller Group is seeking a qualified and strategic executive leader to join our team as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This will be a key role on our executive leadership team overseeing financial operations and supporting near and long-term strategic plans. The CFO will lead a comprehensive core finance team, support the search and execution for new offices and acquisitions, implement strategies to optimize cash flow, assess investment opportunities, and provide strategic financial guidance to drive sustainable growth and profitability. This position can be based in our Evansville or Indianapolis offices.

As a key executive in our firm, the CFO must be a strategic and creative leader who embodies our core corporate values. Key responsibilities of this role will include:

Financial Planning & Strategy:

  • Reviewing planning processes and driving improvements for a growing network of offices and acquisitions.
  • Developing and implementing a broad cash management strategy and internal controls for finance and accounting operations.
  • Initiating profit improvement and efficiency programs and training.
  • Guiding sales and profit projections, leading budget comparisons and adjustments.
  • Working with Regional and Discipline Leaders in each office to monitor departments and make recommendations around production of revenue and increasing efficiency and profitability.
  • Establishing benchmarks for measuring company performance.
  • Generating risk management models and analyzing investments, assets, and liabilities.
  • Overseeing the investment of funds and working with brokers and other parties to raise additional capital if needed.
  • Developing and managing investment strategies and the capital plan to achieve growth targets.
  • Studying long-range economic trends and projecting impact on future growth in sales / market.
  • Controlling fundraising plans and capital structure, overseeing fund investment and capital allocation.
Strategic Leadership & Management:
  • Working with the Executive team to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Managing capital allocation.
  • Driving high-level policy, strategy, and team direction decisions.
  • Analyzing operations for reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
  • Identifying financial risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting expansion into new product areas from a finance perspective.
  • Evaluating operational results and reporting results to the CEO.
  • Leading the accounting/finance team and other administrative teams.
  • Overseeing the preparation of financial statements.
  • Fostering a positive and collaborative team atmosphere, embodying corporate values.
Qualifications for this role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or another related field of study. Master’s degree is preferred. 
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in financial management with a strong financial and accounting background.
  • Experience in a senior management position leading a large finance team across functions and offices.
  • Demonstrated record of successfully implementing effective cash management strategies to support growth initiatives while minimizing liquidity risks.
  • Experience with corporate governance.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling and analysis.
  • Experience sourcing, acquiring, and integrating new companies and sourcing and growing new offices.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute on growth and profitability plans in large organizations.
  • Experience with Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) and familiarity with ESOP administration and regulations, including financial modeling and analysis related to share repurchases, is desirable.
