We are seeking an experienced Applications Support Specialist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide technical support and assistance for various business applications used within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of application functionality, configuration, and analytical skills and troubleshooting methods to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.
Provide technical support and assistance for software applications used across the organization, including troubleshooting user issues, collaborating with developers to resolve software errors, and implementing solutions to improve application performance.
Serve as a subject matter expert on supported applications, understanding their functionality, features, and integration points to effectively address user inquiries and issues.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including end-users, IT teams, and software vendors, to escalate and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
Conduct root cause analysis of application-related problems, identify underlying issues, and recommend preventive measures and process improvements to minimize future incidents.
Perform software installations, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes as needed, following established change management processes and best practices.
Develop and maintain documentation, knowledge articles, and training materials to support end-users and IT staff in utilizing and troubleshooting applications effectively.
Participate in software testing and quality assurance activities, including regression testing, user acceptance testing, and validation of software enhancements and updates.
Assist in the implementation of new software applications, including system configuration, data migration, user training, and post-implementation support.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to application support and IT service delivery.
Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
3-5 years of experience in a similar role, providing technical support for enterprise software applications.
Strong understanding of software application concepts, architectures, and configurations.
Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting application issues, including experience with log analysis, debugging tools, and SQL queries. Strong experience with MS-Excel and data analysis is required.
Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices for incident, problem, and change management.
Familiarity with AWS/Azure cloud and hands-on experience with Linux O/S, common programming languages, and scripting tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical users.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall, is a plus.
Compensation for the role includes a competitive salary of $90,000-$110,000. (dependent on years of experience, level of education obtained, as well as applicable skillset) and an excellent benefits package (including but not limited to health care benefits, retirement benefits and paid days off).
