- Provide Engineering expertise to support production and maintenance through troubleshooting, proposal of design and process changes to improve efficiency and decrease costs.
- Develop manufacturing processes according to global engineering codes and standards.
- Diagnose problems, cause replacement , or repair of parts, detect, and replace defective control modules, test, and make all necessary adjustments.
- Support capital projects from proposal to design and implementation. Define scope of work, prepare estimates, and submit proposals. Assist with coordination and scheduling of work to be performed and track expenditures.
- Ensure that installations and applications are in line with production needs and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes.
- Complies with all safety related procedures and processes.
- Perform quality and performance analysis on new and legacy systems.
- Summarize data and report on test results.
- Order and install new equipment to expand infrastructure and maintain equipment as needed.
- Respond quickly to all service requests to efficiently troubleshoot and repair systems as needed.
- Use CAD software (AutoCAD preferred) to create schematics.
- Assist plant operations teams with design and monitoring of maintenance and inspection plans.
- Must have strong knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles and methodologies.
- Must have knowledge of mechanical design.
- Must have experience in design, repair and analysis of mechanical equipment.
- Experience in contractual related project/work environment, providing engineering support to mechanical maintenance and modification systems, and establishing processes for mechanical design preferred.
- Must have strong attention to detail to analyze data and make recommendations for improvement.
- Must have strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
- Working familiarity with CAD systems, 3D CAD a plus
- Ability to read electrical and P&ID prints and interpret them a must.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic familiarity a plus.
- Computer related skills, MSOffice. Rslogix 5, 500 and 5000 a plus
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with PLC’s, ladder logic, and function block programming a plus.
- Ability to read PLC logic and follow the logic for troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Drives, AC/DC motors a plus
- Must be able to support manufacturing operations active 24/5, and be available for project work occurring on weekends.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communication across all levels of the organization and with external customers, vendors, etc.
