Lipscomb University is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner Near Nashville, TN

As a Nurse Practitioner at Lipscomb University Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to the university's diverse student population. Your primary responsibility will be to perform student health assessments and manage their ongoing healthcare needs. This detailed job duty can be broken down into several key components:

Medical Assessment and Diagnosis:

Conduct thorough medical assessments, including physical examinations, medical history reviews, and the evaluation of presenting symptoms.

Utilize advanced clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills to accurately diagnose and treat various acute and chronic medical conditions.

Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as laboratory work, imaging, and specialized examinations as needed.
Treatment Planning and Implementation:

Develop individualized treatment plans for students, encompassing both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.

Prescribe medications and treatments as appropriate, ensuring compliance with state regulations and university policies.
Administer vaccinations, immunizations, and other preventive health measures to promote student well-being.

Chronic Disease Management:

Manage and provide ongoing care for students with chronic health conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, and hypertension, to optimize their health and academic success.

Educate students about self-management strategies and lifestyle modifications to improve their health outcomes.

Health Education and Promotion:

Collaborate with health educators and counselors to provide health education programs and workshops for students on topics like nutrition, sexual health, stress management, and substance abuse prevention.

Participate in campus-wide health promotion campaigns and initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of wellness.
Referrals and Consultations:

Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare providers as necessary, making referrals for more specialized care and consultations to ensure the comprehensive health needs of students are met.

Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records for each student, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and university policies.

Utilize the university's EHR system to document patient encounters, treatment plans, and medical history.

Emergency Response and Urgent Care:

Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care to students in crisis situations at the clinic.

Work closely with the campus security and emergency response teams to coordinate emergency medical services.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including registered nurses, physicians, mental health counselors, and other staff to deliver holistic care to students.

Participate in regular team meetings to discuss cases, share best practices, and ensure coordinated care.
Continuing Education:

Maintaining Licensing and Certification:
