Summary/Objective
The individual must be forward thinking, raise the bar and expectations of the engineering department. This role is responsible designing components and tooling that will turn customers dreams into actual parts. They should be able to lead themselves to accomplish challenging goals. This individual must be passionate, hardworking and have a sense of urgency for all projects.
They will coordinate changes with the engineering department as needed. The position ensures that programs are ready for pattern production in advance to prevent downtime. They will communicate with co-workers regarding timelines and maintain a safe, organized and clean work environment and adheres to our Quality Standards.
Essential Functions

Be able to quickly create 3D computer aided designs for plastic thermoformed tooling from a customers’ design; or just a napkin sketch
Possess the vision necessary to understand how things are made
Experienced communicator who feels comfortable with internal or customer teams. communication
Assist with creation of process documents for all fabrication.
New SKU creation, routes, and BOMs
Maintains program file organization in the company share folder to prevent unnecessary downtime
Assist with part quoting estimates.
Complete special assignments as requested
Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant.
Competencies
Must be able to use SolidWorks, and/or Fuzion 360
Must be able to work as a part of a team to achieve the company’s overall goals
Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts
Understanding of 5-axis programming is not required but is encouraged
Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings
Strong technical aptitude: has the ability to visualize fabrication steps and think through a complete manufacturing process
Drives at root cause to solve problems
Must read, write and speak English
Supervisory Responsibility
Although this is not a supervisory position, the right candidate will be able to assign tasks to the Mold Shop and ensure that their designs are constructed correctly; and be able to take responsibility for their combined work.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are decided by the hiring manager. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as needed.
Travel
Travel will be expected 10% of the time.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution is preferred, but not required
Auto CAD experience
SolidWorks experience
Preferred Education and Experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.
Proven leadership experience in similar industry preferred.
Public speaking ability preferred.
Strong organization and time management skills preferred.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
