LIONS SERVICES INC is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Charlotte, NC

Purpose:
The Human Resource Generalist will assist with confidential People Operation functions as directed by the Human Resources Director in accordance with federal and state regulations including but not limited to: employee assistance, policy implementation, attendance reporting, employment verifications, health and wellness benefits, payroll, recruiting, onboarding & exiting processes, FMLA/ADA compliance, company events as well as act as support for other administrative functions as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the Human Resources Director by assisting with the confidential functions of the people operations to fulfill the strategic goals of the company as well as federal and state employment requirements.
  • Act as primary employee support person and communicate concerns regarding employee feedback, safety issues, policy and procedure related items and opportunities for improvement.
  • Will talk, translate, explain, read and respond to employees who may or may not have vision disabilities or other needs of support regarding HR related topics.
  • Support and assist with payroll processing including but not limited to new hire, termination, STS transportation bus pass tickets request and distribution pass/tickets to employees.
  • Assist with mobility training of employees as needed.
  • Assist and train employees to use the Paycom system.
  • Coordinate the recruiting process for Production positions. Including but not limited to posting positions, reviewing applications, scheduling, and conducting interviews and processing job offers, pre-employment screenings and new and rehire onboarding.
  • Assist new employees with benefits enrollment and the open enrollment process. Troubleshoot problems with employee benefits.
  • Coordinate the FMLA and non-medical related leave of absence policies for employees and maintain accurate personnel files and documentation to track these absences.
  • Coordinate the Worker’s Compensation vendor and employees as it relates to on-the-job injuries.
  • Assist employees with employment verifications including social security paperwork, jury duty paperwork as well as wage verifications.
  • Track and create employee award program.
  • Provide support for employee events including holiday functions, employee exits as well as extra benefits such as the Mobile Library, food trucks and famers market.
  • Participate in meetings and represent LSI in the applicable capacity as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Business related travel is /- 5%.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field
  • One to three years of human resources experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Paycom or similar HRIS experience strongly desired.
  • Payroll processing experience strongly desired.
  • Previous experience working or interacting with people who are blind or legally blind is a plus.
  • Language translation abilities strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and writing communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of walking around the facilities on a very regular basis.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with changing noise levels caused by machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
